More Than Bread Devotional for 4/10/12

9 “To whom will he teach knowledge,
and to whom will he explain the message?
Those who are weaned from the milk,
those taken from the breast?
10 For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, there a little.”  – Isaiah 28:9-10

Learning is a lifelong pursuit.  Learning as a disciple of Jesus is even more so one of gradual building.  There are lots of things we are simply unable to learn until we have reached a certain place in life or experienced certain things in life.  This may seem frustrating or bothersome when we look back and wonder why we had to go through so much to understand something that now seems so simple.  Look a little deeper and you will see the precept under the precept under the precept under the precept that brought you to the place to understand the precept you just now grasped.  Little by little we continue to grow in grace and truth.  It doesn’t happen overnight, nor could it.  That’s why He’s still working on me.
