1Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God. – 1 Peter 4:1-2
This might be the perfect thought for a Monday. Seems to me that Peter equates dealing with sin to “suffering in the flesh.” This makes sense when you think about it. Sin is enticing and fun at the time, but dealing with its consequences tends to be painful. Christ suffered enough to rid you of sin and death. There is no need to suffer anymore if you don’t have to do it. Choose life and live for the will of God. It is a lot less painful.
