More Than Bread Devotional for 3/5/12

34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”  – Matthew 6:34

It is such a simple statement really.  But have you ever noticed how we aren’t just anxious about tomorrow?  Sometimes we remain anxious about the day before or the week before and how it will affect tomorrow and so on and so forth.  I suppose that could be called being anxious about tomorrow too.  The larger principle behind Jesus’ words here hold in any case.  Today will give you enough to deal with without dragging in extra problems from yesterday (that you know about) or tomorrow (that you can’t possibly guess).  And He will be with you today to deal with these things.  He promised to never leave you or forsake you.  Walk with Him today through whatever trouble may come.
