More Than Bread Devotional for 2/27/12

5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.  – Colossians 4:5-6

Somehow these verses seem appropriate to a Monday.  With the old cliche that Mondays are the worst day of the week, it can be easy to let our flesh get the best of us as we deal with the stress of going back to work and dealing with the same people all over again and so forth.  And since we just had church on Sunday, we are back to dealing more with those who are not our brothers and sisters in the Lord in most cases as well.  Paul encourages us to be gracious in our speech and attitudes toward those who are not believers and to make the best use of our time.  That isn’t just a Monday challenge; it is an everyday thing.
