More Than Bread Devotional for 2/21/12

10 For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.  – Hebrews 2:10

Sometimes I think we don’t stop to consider the suffering of Christ.  We can take it as axiomatic that He had to suffer because Scripture says so, but I am not sure that we can ever grasp the nature of that suffering or truly understand why it had to be that way.  Still, it would be foolish to expect that we can avoid suffering and pain.  And it may just be that the suffering that you and I endure is able to also bring glory to God as well.  Count it all joy my brothers (and sisters) when you endure suffering, for it produces much fruit and strengthens your faith.
