More Than Bread Devotional for 2/17/12

Psalm 20:7-8
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name
of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.

There are lots of things that we tend to put our trust in when things go wrong. Sometimes we trust ourselves or other people. We may even think we are trusting God and just “helping out” a little. If you are in a situation and God hasn’t asked for your advice… there is a reason. He is our defender and champion. He knows the way out that we are seeking for. So listen to Him. And if your answer is “Sit still.” then sit still! Trusting in the name of God means that you are trusting Him because He is God. You know Him and how He has aided you in the past. He will NOT fail you this time. Trusting in Him means that you will eventually rise up and stand firm.
