More Than Bread Devotional for 1/6/12

Psalm 19:5-7
We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests.
Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Two things to notice here. One – Our job as friends and brothers and sisters in Christ is to really be happy when God works in someone’s life. That means shouting for joy when they are victorious. I know it’s hard when you’ve been praying for something for 10 years and they get it in 6 months…. but God is working out HIS plan, not yours! It will be for your ultimate good though. Second – If you are the one with the victory story don’t be afraid to share it. The Psalmist says after seeing the victorious one… “Now I know the Lord saves his anointed.” Your victory story may be the thing that God wants to use to spur another on to victory too! So tell em. : o )
