More Than Bread Devotional for 12/23/11

John 16:20,22,33
I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.  So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

There are times when grief is inevitable.  There are circumstances that are painfully beyond our control.  There is sometimes an abundance of sorrow.  BUT above all of that.  There is Hope. I think what God would have us remember above any circumstance, no matter how unbearable is this. . . You don’t have to bear it alone. Grieve but let your Father share that with you.  Most importantly, remember He really has overcome the world.  The same arms that flung the stars also hung on the cross and wait to encircle you in your pain.  Let them.
