More Than Bread Devotional for 11/17/11

17You have wearied the LORD with your words.  But you say, “How have we wearied him?”  By saying, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delights in them.” Or by asking, “Where is the God of justice?”  – Malachi 2:17

We live in a culture that tries to substitute evil for good all of the time.  We must be very careful not to join in to this practice ourselves.  There are far too many preachers and Christians who tell others that it doesn’t matter what you do, you will be OK before God anyway.  Scripture doesn’t say that.  It says the opposite.  Those who do evil are in danger of judgment from God.  Repentance is demanded of those who live in sin.  God’s justice will not sleep forever.  He will punish those who live according to their own ways.  Let us not weary God by saying, “I’m OK. You’re OK. We are all OK.”  Let us speak the truth in love and honor God.
