17For I am ready to fall,
and my pain is ever before me. – Psalm 38:17
Many of you who read this devotional know my sister, Gina. This devotional started as something that she did for friends and coworkers many years ago in fact. It has continued with a couple of starts and stops along the way and will keep on keeping on by the grace of God as long as He allows it to do so. I wanted to take time today to ask you to be praying for Gina. She has had some intense issues with back pain and is going to a specialist in another state today. Pray for answers and for healing for Gina.
I think the psalmist could relate to this situation. This psalm details various physical and other pain that has consumed his attention and is crying out for God not to forsake him. We know from other places in Scripture, that these prayers of David did not go unanswered. God did not forsake David. He upheld him and kept him to the end of his life and beyond. His promises to David are true and have been kept. Let this be of comfort to you in whatever situation you find yourself in today.
