More Than Bread Devotional for 10/26/11

65You have dealt well with your servant,
O LORD, according to your word.
66Teach me good judgment and knowledge,
for I believe in your commandments.
67Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I keep your word.
68You are good and do good;
teach me your statutes.  – Psalm 119:65-68

There is a saying you hear from time to time in church: “God is good,” and its callback is “All the time”.  The psalmist reminds us of God’s goodness toward us and also tells us how to keep it going.  We learn good judgment and contentment in God’s ways and words.  I figured we could just spend the whole week in Psalm 119 this week.  There are so many great thoughts in this one chapter, a chapter devoted to God’s instruction.
