A psalm. For giving thanks.
1 Shout for joy to the LORD , all the earth.
2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Thanksgiving is not that far away, but we should remember the importance of giving thanks to God every day of the year. We in America are so blessed in our daily lives that we sometimes lose sight of how much God has blessed us. “But things are rough right now”, you say. In 1 Peter 1:6-7 it says this:
“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire–may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
So praise God today, for everything He does for us, and be a blessing to someone today.
