6For the fool speaks folly,
and his heart is busy with iniquity,
to practice ungodliness,
to utter error concerning the LORD,
to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied,
and to deprive the thirsty of drink.
7As for the scoundrel— his devices are evil;
he plans wicked schemes
to ruin the poor with lying words,
even when the plea of the needy is right.
8But he who is noble plans noble things,
and on noble things he stands. – Isaiah 32:6-8
The Bible talks a lot about foolishness and it always revolves around a single theme. Foolishness comes from not following God’s ways or wisdom. Here, we are told that those who seek to do things their own way will end up unsatisfied with the results and will inflict the same pain on others around them. The world tries to dress these things up and make them look sensible, but in the end they will be shown to be foolish and useless. Don’t look to those things; turn your mind to noble things, the things of God and His Word and wisdom.
