1“Come, let us return to the LORD;
for he has torn us, that he may heal us;
he has struck us down, and he will bind us up.
2After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will raise us up,
that we may live before him.
3 Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD;
his going out is sure as the dawn;
he will come to us as the showers,
as the spring rains that water the earth.”
Hosea has some really vivid images of the love of God and also some close parallels to our own life in relationship to God. We all may experience seasons where it seems like God has struck us or wounded us or even torn us. These feelings may be right; God may be disciplining you at that time, as Hebrews 12:6 talks about or it may be difficulties that have arisen from the evil in this world in general. In either case, God stands ready at the right time to heal and to bind and to revive and renew. Live in His light and walk in His path. He will hold you in His mighty hand.
