Matthew 12:48-50
48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
Have you ever sang that song, “The Family of God”? It’s become kind of an old standard in some churches now, and I noticed that it is included in the new hymnbooks that we just got at our church. It is very true though. For those of us who know Christ as Savior and Lord have joined the family of God. We are His brothers and sisters if you will. This doesn’t change His status as the only begotten Son. We are his adopted brothers and sisters. I’m so glad. I’m a part of the family of God.
